Riverside hotels on the Chao Phraya River

For this trip to Bangkok, I specifically chose to stay at the riverside Salil Hotel. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing riverside vacation atmosphere without the crowds. The hotel is new and high-quality, located by the Chao Phraya River. It offers a tranquil yet convenient environment, with its own pier and free shuttle boat service directly to the popular Iconsiam mall and BTS Skytrain station. It's just a 10-minute walk to the Ferris Wheel Night Market and Asiatique. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and 7-11 stores, making it super easy to grab a bite or buy snacks.
About the hotel itself, it opened in 2022 and is well-maintained with complete facilities. The pool is beautifully designed, surrounded by trees, making it perfect for Instagram-worthy photos. On hot days, you can take a dip and chill. The rooms are very clean and reasonably spacious, with some room types even equipped with a microwave and Harnn-brand toiletries, ensuring a comfortable stay. The hotel also offers comprehensive public facilities, including a spa, gym, and fragrance shop, making it convenient whether you want to relax or work out.
In terms of service, the staff are polite, professional, and attentive. During check-in, they provide a welcome drink, and for birthdays or special occasions, they even offer small gifts, paying attention to the details. If there are any issues with the facilities, they handle them quickly and efficiently.
The most surprising feature is the additional experiences: the hotel offers free Thai costume experiences, allowing guests to dress up and take cultural photos. There are also regular yoga classes and monk almsgiving activities, making it easy to immerse yourself in Thai culture. Afternoon tea is also complimentary, letting you enjoy desserts while admiring the river view, creating a perfect vacation vibe.
Breakfast offers a wide variety of choices with fresh ingredients daily, including made-to-order Eggs Benedict. The hotel restaurant and ice cream shop are very popular, and after a swim, indulging in some desserts is incredibly refreshing.
A few guests have mentioned wanting improved cleaning standards and check-in efficiency, and the price-to-facility ratio could use slight adjustments. However, overall, the value for money is excellent, making it suitable for families, couples, or friends celebrating special occasions.
Tips: When booking the hotel, check if it includes Thai costume experiences, spa, or afternoon tea offers. Communicate any special requests with the hotel in advance, as the staff are very accommodating. Bangkok's weather is hot, so staying by the riverside is cooler, and it's convenient to visit night markets in the evening. If you don't want to take the MRT, make good use of the hotel's shuttle boat service, which is very convenient for visiting Iconsiam and currency exchange.
