Bangkok's most fun street! A half-day tour of Songyue Road

Song Wat, Bangkok's recently trending street, was once a riverside commercial street, but has now been transformed into a popular photo-op destination. The aging architecture of old houses blends with newly opened cafes and food stalls, creating a retro yet fresh atmosphere. It's a popular haunt for both locals and tourists, and I decided to explore it during my visit to Bangkok. I discovered that this short, one-kilometer street can be perfectly arranged into a half-day trip.

I highly recommend taking a boat from Sathorn Pier to Ratchawong Pier for 30 baht one way. From there, Song Wat is just a few minutes' walk away. Viewing Bangkok from the river is much more relaxing than taking a taxi and getting stuck in traffic, and you can also enjoy the scenery along the Chao Phraya River.

Don't rush to find a meal upon arrival; enjoy a drink while strolling around. If you'd rather sit down and relax, TAY Song Wat is a great spot. Its retro atmosphere is also perfect for photo opportunities. Local Boys Coffee is a trendy cafe with a small but vibrant vibe.
The canned coffee is a real treat.

For Thai food for lunch, head to BLACK 777 (ทรงวาด), a newcomer to Bangkok's list, serving classic Northeastern Thai cuisine.

For a change of pace, head to SongViet at SongWat.
The Vietnamese pho and baguettes are both excellent, but be aware that they're closed on Mondays, so don't miss out.

Also worth checking out on Song Viet Road are local Thai fragrance brands like Copenn and Onest.
A quick stroll through the area will take you half a day.
For dinner, try this street's signature snack, Lim Lao Ngow Fish Ball Noodles.
Remember!
This shop doesn't open until 4:30 PM.
I didn't do enough research, so I went there in the afternoon and it was closed.

🌆Return Route
After eating, you can stroll to the Sheraton Hotel Pier and take the free ferry back to Sathorn Pier;
or, you can go directly to Iconsiam for a stroll and then take the ferry or BTS back to the city.

Tip: Bring some cash, as many businesses in Thailand don't accept credit cards these days.

Overall, Song Viet Road is perfect for a leisurely stroll and a leisurely meal.
It's free from the hustle and bustle of major tourist attractions, but packed with surprises.
Half a day is perfect for taking photos, enjoying coffee, and snacking—you can experience a different side of Bangkok on this street.
