Wat Nang Chi Chotikaram

Wat Nang Chi Chotikaram is believed to have been built during the mid-Ayutthaya period. The ordination hall and the vihara lack traditional Thai architectural elements such as chofah, bai raka, and hang hong. Inside the ordination hall, the principal Buddha image in a meditation posture (known as Luang Pho Si Tis) is enshrined, surrounded by numerous other Buddha images in various postures. Behind the principal Buddha image is a reclining Buddha, which is both unique and beautiful. The interior also features murals depicting celestial assemblies and intricately decorated mother-of-pearl inlaid doors and windows with bird and floral patterns, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship.

In the vihara, there is a Buddha image in the Palilayaka posture named Luang Pho Duang Dee (Wednesday Buddha), accompanied by the revered Erawan elephant.

Another significant feature of Wat Nang Chi is the relics of the Buddha. Annually, on the second waning moon day of the 12th lunar month, or two days after the Loy Krathong festival, the relics and the relics of the Buddha's disciples are ceremoniously placed on a busabok (a small pavilion) set on a boat. They are then paraded along the canal from the temple's pier, a long-standing traditional event.

Location: 312/1 Soi Thoet Thai 41/1, Pak Khlong Phasi Charoen Subdistrict, Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok 10160.
