Memorial Bridge and Chao Phraya Sky Park have become chic landmarks in the heart of Bangkok, attracting visitors for relaxation, photography, and panoramic views of the Chao Phraya River. These places offer a truly special stroll, especially in the evening as the sun sets.
🌅 Chao Phraya Sky Park: A haven for relaxation
Chao Phraya Sky Park is Thailand's first elevated park, renovated from an abandoned skytrain pier. It connects travel between the Phra Nakhon side (Pak Khlong Talat) and the Thonburi side (Khlong San/Wat Kalayanamit).
• 360-Degree View: The sky park offers stunning 360-degree views of the Chao Phraya River, including passing boats and historic riverside buildings.
• Recommended time: Arrive in the evening (around 5:00 PM) to watch the sunset. The golden-orange light reflecting off the water and onto the Memorial Bridge is truly breathtaking. Create a romantic atmosphere and capture beautiful, dreamy photos with soft lighting.
• Chill-out activities: The Sky Garden features a beautiful walkway with benches for relaxing and enjoying the view. Or, bring your headphones and listen to music while enjoying the cool river breeze.
🚗 Getting there
🚃 MRT:
• The nearest station is Sanam Chai MRT Station. Take Exit 4 (Pak Khlong Talat). From there, walk to the Chao Phraya Sky Garden and Memorial Bridge. It takes about 10-15 minutes.
🚤 Chao Phraya Express Boat:
• Take the express boat to Memorial Bridge Pier for another way to enjoy the Chao Phraya River views.
🚌 Bus/Private Car:
• Several bus lines pass by Memorial Bridge (such as lines 3, 73, and 82).
🚘 If you're driving, you can park at nearby temples, such as Wat Kalayanamit (Thonburi side) or the parking garage at Pak Khlong Talat.
