[Kuala Lumpur] Batu Caves

I visited the mystical sacred site "Batu Caves" located on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur! The entrance is stunning, greeted by a 42.7-meter-tall golden statue of Lord Murugan. The 272 colorful steps to climb are steeper than they look, and with each step, my heartbeat quickened, giving me a great sense of accomplishment!

At the top of the stairs, the inside of the large cave is cool and filled with a sacred atmosphere. Temples line the cave interior, creating an otherworldly space where the prayers of worshippers and the fluttering of bats' wings intertwine. Also, the limestone cliffs and lush green scenery viewed from the cave are breathtakingly beautiful.

Along the way, friendly monkeys also welcome visitors. Be careful with bottled drinks. Dress modestly, covering your shoulders and knees, as there is a check at the entrance, so please be mindful.

Access is about 30 minutes from KL city by train or Grab. It’s a treasure trove of nature and culture that you can easily visit. Visiting early in the morning or before noon is recommended for a more relaxed experience. Batu Caves offers a mystical and powerful experience and is a must-see spot on your Kuala Lumpur trip 😊
