Looking for a destination that mixes beach vibes, quirky architecture, and easy access to epic nature? I just found it in Batumi, Georgia! This Black Sea gem is the perfect solo getaway—boasting a vibrant promenade, Soviet-era futurism, and the breathtaking Adjara mountains right on its doorstep. It’s budget-friendly, safe, and packed with personality.
My Solo Itinerary:
· Day 1 – Seaside & City Charm: Strolled the famous Batumi Boulevard, people-watched by the dancing Ali & Nino statue, and got lost in the lush Batumi Botanical Garden (a must!). Ended the day with delicious, wallet-friendly Georgian cuisine—hello, khachapuri and khinkali!
· Day 2 – Mountains & Magic: Hopped a marshrutka (local minibus) to the stunning Mtirala National Park for hiking among misty waterfalls and emerald-green forests. Felt a world away from the coast!
· Day 3 – Culture & Quirk: Explored the old town, admired the mix of Ottoman and Art Nouveau architecture, and chilled at a cool café with a book.
Top Tips for Solo Travelers:
· Stay Central: Pick a guesthouse or hostel near the boulevard—everything is walkable, and you’ll meet other travelers.
· Try the Food: Don’t be shy—Georgian food is life. Eat at local spots and don’t skip the wine tasting!
· Day Trips are Easy: Use marshrutkas to explore nearby wonders like Gonio Fortress or Sarpi at the Turkish border.
· Learn a Few Words: “Gamarjoba” (hello) and “madloba” (thank you) go a long way!
Batumi was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure—all served with famous Georgian warmth.
