A Convenient Gem Near Penang Airport — Comfortable Stay Without Breaking the Bank!

I spent one night at Raia Inn Penang (Bayan Lepas) because I needed to pick up my wife’s late flight and wanted something close to the airport. The hotel sits extremely conveniently — roughly an 8-minute drive (about 1 km) from Penang International Airport — so it’s ideal for very early or very late flights.

Check-in was smooth and the staff were efficient and polite; they also provide a large complimentary parking area, which made arrival and departure easy for us since we drove. The room itself was pleasantly spacious and fitted with basic amenities (Wi-Fi, smart TV, desk). Do note: a hair dryer isn’t left in the room by default — you need to request one from reception.

The standout for families is the pool area. The outdoor pool has a kids’ splash area with slides and water features that genuinely look like a little waterpark — great if you’re travelling with children and want them to burn off energy before a flight. The pool is complimentary for in-house guests and is clearly one of the hotel’s selling points.

Price and value were the main reason I chose Raia Inn — rates are often noticeably lower than the bigger airport hotels nearby while still offering solid facilities and a pleasant stay.
