The Wang Family Compound in Shengfang was built in the sixth year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. It is located on Zhongshan Avenue in Shengfang Town, and its original owner was Wang Zijian. The residence is divided into four small courtyards, integrating European, African, and traditional Chinese Qing architectural styles. From design to construction, the compound was built by engineering and technical personnel invited from Tianjin, and it is said that it cost 30,000 taels of silver. Later, in an earthquake, the southwest and southeast courtyards, as well as the main gate, second gate, and third gate, were destroyed, while the northwest and northeast courtyards were basically preserved.
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, some revolutionary predecessors lived and fought here. During the Pingjin Campaign, Nie Rongzhen, Yang Chengwu, and Liu Bingyan commanded battles here. After liberation, it was used as the Shengfang Hotel and successively received central and state leaders such as Deng Xiaoping, Nie Rongzhen, Yang Shangkun, Chen Yi, He Long, Liu Bocheng, Xu Xiangqian, Ye Jianying, Liu Lantao, Rong Gaotang, An Ziwen, Guo Moruo, Zhou Yang, and Li Dequan.
