Spring in Beijing is a riot of colors, and when the city blooms in full, it's time for Yilan to head to the mountains.
Driving on the Jingzang Expressway and passing Juyongguan, you can see the majestic Great Wall winding atop the mountains. But what's even more breathtaking is the sea of pink blossoms covering the hillsides—the peach and apricot flowers in full bloom, making the dragon-like Great Wall seem wrapped in a pink mist. Although flowers are everywhere in spring, such a unique view can only be found along this route.
Every spring, Yilan finds the most delightful thing is to stay in a small courtyard at the foot of the Great Wall, where from dawn to dusk, you can look up to see the mountains, the Great Wall, and the mountain flowers. So, a few days ago, we went to Shifosi Village at the foot of the Shuiguan Great Wall and stayed at the familiar Luliu Homestay, which has built a new courtyard in the village: Luliu.Qu She.
Although I knew the courtyard was large before coming, I was still deeply shocked when I went up to the second-floor terrace! The rooftops of all the guest rooms in the homestay are connected, creating a super-large viewing platform with an unbeatable view of the flower-covered mountains and the Great Wall, including the beacon towers, all within easy reach. Living in a landscape painting is truly wonderful, a 360-degree view that's never enough no matter how many photos you take.
The rooms at Luliu.Qu She are spacious, with sunlight streaming through the large floor-to-ceiling windows filling the room, instantly giving off a vacation vibe.
The room's amenities are also great, with comfortable beds and high-quality bedding, and they even prepared my favorite latex pillows. The bathroom is neat and clean with a good separation of wet and dry areas, and there's plenty of hot water. The public area on the first floor of the courtyard includes a kitchen, dining room, and audio-visual entertainment room, and there's a mahjong room and tea room on the second-floor terrace, so you can enjoy the scenery during the day and not be bored at night.
We stayed at Luliu.Qu She for two nights in a row, not wanting to leave the courtyard from morning to night. You can stroll on the terrace at any time, and with the changing light, the scenery and colors change too, never enough to see. The two and a half days were filled with beauty, all with the romantic air of spring.
Luliu.Qu She:
Located in Shifosi Village, Shuiguan Great Wall, Yanqing District, it's a 40-60 minute drive from the city center, and just 5 minutes from the Jingzang Expressway Shuiguan Great Wall exit.
I am Yilan, a travel-loving photographer. Join me to explore fun and beautiful new places to love❤~
