The Hutoutan Scenic Area is located on the Maocha River in Dushan Town, at the foot of the Xianghongdian Reservoir in Lu'an City. Just over 100 kilometers from the provincial capital of Hefei, it offers convenient transportation, picturesque scenery, and picturesque landscapes. The area is named after a small hilltop nestled on the bank of the Pi River, resembling a tiger drawing water. Standing on the Tiger Head Rock, the sandy beach and stream water resemble a crescent moon, reflecting the Tiger Head Rock in a striking way, creating the Dushan ancient scenic spot of "Tiger Head Reflecting the Moon."

The water here is swift and unfathomable. According to the old folklore, even a pound of yellow silk wouldn't reach the bottom. One summer, a man diving to the bottom to fish encountered a large, unidentified monster, leaving him terrified. No one has dared to venture below since then. My earliest recollection of Hutoutan's development dates back to the 1960s and 1970s. To ensure drinking water for the local garrison, the army built a pumping station and stationed soldiers there. A large red inscription on the hill above the water read, "Be vigilant, defend the motherland." This scene left an indelible impression on my young mind.
