The beautiful Great Wall is worth visiting

I did a lot of research and decided to visit this section of the Great Wall, and I’m so glad I did! This section of the Great Wall is absolutely beautiful, but be aware that it is very steep. Although restored, it still has an authentic feel as the steps are uneven and the walls themselves have no handrails, which the staff on duty said was intentional to maintain authenticity. The wall was only ankle deep and the climb up was very steep and uneven. Not recommended for people with knee problems or limited mobility. It is high up and offers views of the mountains and town. The trail is recommended to be walked on the section between the 6th to 8th post. It is indeed a beauty worth seeing.

Since the Great Wall is located in the large resort "Gubei Water Town", it is also convenient to get to from Beijing. There are several direct buses from Dongzhimen Bus Station, including one at 9am every day. One way fare is 48 yuan. We took a bus from Dongzhimen at 9 am, arrived at the resort before 11 am, and then took a bus to the Great Wall Cable Car at 12 noon. We visited the resort for about 3 to 4 hours. You can take the bus back to Beijing at 5:00 PM.
