Yangzhou Grand Canal Museum:
- Basic information: Also known as "Zhongyunbo", it is located in the Sanwan Scenic Area of Yangzhou. It is a thematic museum that integrates the collection, display, research, and education of canal cultural relics, and also serves as a tourist and leisure venue and a platform for foreign exchanges. It is a landmark museum in the construction of the Grand Canal National Cultural Park and a public welfare institution directly under the management of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. The museum officially started construction on September 27, 2019, and was completed and opened on June 16, 2021. It covers a total area of 200 mu and has a total construction area of about 79,000 square meters.
- Exhibitions:
- Permanent exhibitions: "The Grand Canal - China's World Cultural Heritage" exhibition presents a panoramic view of the history and cultural value of the Grand Canal in China; "Born from the Canal - Impressions of the Grand Canal Streets" exhibition is created in the mode of "reproduction of urban historical landscape", allowing visitors to interact and experience as if they were traveling through time and space.
- Thematic exhibitions: Including exhibitions on the intangible cultural heritage of the Grand Canal, world-famous canals and canal cities, Emperor Yang of Sui and the Grand Canal, the Forbidden City and the Grand Canal, and the Canal Wetland Exploration, etc., which showcase the cultural connotations and values of the Grand Canal from different perspectives.
- Digital exhibitions: "Love of the River" is a digital thematic exhibition hall that interprets the culture of the Grand Canal in China in four chapters: "Water", "Transportation", "Poetry", and "Painting". It creates an immersive experience through naked-eye technology.
- Important collections: The museum houses a variety of cultural relics and exhibits reflecting the theme of the canal from the Spring and Autumn period to the contemporary era, including ancient books and documents, calligraphy and paintings, inscriptions, ceramics, metalware, and miscellaneous items. The total collection is 4,350 pieces (sets).
