We departed from our accommodation near the Hujailou subway station to the Lama Temple, also known as Yonghe Gong, in downtown Beijing. The fare is very cheap, only four yuan. When we exited Yonghe Gong station, we had to walk across the street to the other side to enter the temple, about 100 meters away. Since the day we went was the Moon Festival, there were shops on the walking street with offerings in front of their shops. So we asked a Chinese person and he said that it was like a tradition of praying and asking for blessings, and people crowded the temple to pray for blessings on the Moon Festival. There is only one way into the temple, with an entrance fee of 25 yuan, and the only exit is on the road, close to the subway station. The staff prohibits taking pictures inside the building, which is lined up in a long line from the entrance to the exit. The staff in the temple will give us a large bundle of incense to worship the gods at each building. We walked for about an hour and a half, then went out to find lunch near the temple, and then went to other places.
