Exhibition Introduction
Colored glaze porcelain refers to porcelain that is mainly decorated with the texture and color of glaze. Its firing history can be traced back to the primitive porcelain of the Xia and Shang Dynasties. By the Ming and Qing Dynasties, a colored glaze porcelain system dominated by blue, red, yellow, white, and black glazes had gradually formed. This "five colors" is also the basic understanding and summary of colors by the Chinese since the Spring and Autumn Period. It is usually regarded as the primary color and the basic color, and it profoundly affects the aesthetic psychology of the Chinese nation.
This exhibition has selected 112 pieces of ancient Chinese colored glaze porcelain from the collections of the Palace Museum, including ten glaze colors in the five major glaze color systems.
Time is gentle, and the glaze color remains the same. Appreciate the spiritual symbol of the long-standing and profound Chinese civilization and the aesthetic style of the unity of heaven and man and the moderation and peace of Chinese aesthetics.
