Cuandixia Village is a very famous ancient village in Beijing. The western part of Beijing is full of stone mountains. Take the newly opened Beijing-Wu Expressway, and you will pass through one tunnel after another, which is very impressive. Cuandixia Village has well-preserved ancient architecture, with buildings arranged along the mountain slopes. With Longtou Mountain as the center, the north-south central axis controls the layout of more than 70 exquisite courtyard houses, which are arranged in two layers along the mountain slopes in a radial pattern on a limited site. The buildings are distributed in a rigorous and harmonious manner, with orderly changes. The overall layout of the village resembles a "gourd" or an "ingot", symbolizing "fortune" and "wealth", giving the ancient village an auspicious meaning.
There are many inns and farmhouses in the village, making it convenient to eat. It is recommended to drive directly into the village, as some parking lots offer free parking if you dine in the village. There are hiking trails on the mountains in front and behind the village, making it easy to climb and enjoy the village's scenery. There is also a natural landform called Yixiantian at the village entrance, which is worth a visit. Living in the fast-paced city life, you can come to Cuandixia Village on weekends to experience a slower pace of life and relax.
