Beijing, China is a world-famous tourist resort city. Every day, thousands of tourists come here for sightseeing and vacation. There are many tourist attractions in Beijing. This time I would like to introduce a very famous local attraction: Lama Temple.
The Lama Temple is located in the northeast corner of Beijing city. In the 33rd year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1694), Emperor Kangxi built a mansion here and gave it to his fourth son Yinzhen, which later became Prince Yong's Palace. In the third year of Yongzheng's reign (1725), the prince's palace was converted into a temporary palace and named Yonghe Palace. In the thirteenth year of Yongzheng's reign (1735), Emperor Yongzheng passed away and his coffin was placed here. As a result, the original green glazed tiles of the main halls of Yonghe Palace were changed to yellow glazed tiles.

Lama Temple was named after the Qianlong Emperor, who was born here. Two emperors came from the Lama Temple, making it a "blessed place where dragons hide". Therefore, the temple has yellow tiles and red walls, the same specifications as the Forbidden City. In the ninth year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1744), the Lama Temple was converted into a Lama Temple, and a special minister, Wang, was appointed to manage its affairs. It became the center for the Qing government to manage Tibetan Buddhist affairs throughout the country. The Lama Temple was the highest-standard Buddhist temple in the country during the middle and late Qing Dynasty.

The Lama Temple was designated as a national key Buddhist temple in the Han area by the State Council in 1983. The temple is mainly composed of three exquisite archways and five magnificent halls. From the east and west archways with flying eaves and brackets to the quaint east and west Shunshan towers, it covers a total area of ​​66,400 square meters and has more than a thousand halls.
