— [Zhengyangmen (Zhèngyángmén)] is a huge gate that was once the main entrance to Beijing City.

It is also called "Zhengyang Bridge" due to its structure and role, and is the remains of a castle gate that has a strong presence as the "southern face of Beijing".

It is located just south of the famous [Tiananmen Square].

If you go through here, you will go straight to the Forbidden City (Imperial Palace).

In other words, this gate had the meaning of "the first gate through which those heading to the Emperor pass".

Even today, its imposing appearance remains, and it is a valuable presence that allows travelers visiting Beijing to experience "Beijing as a historical city".

📸 Tips
・If you want to take a photo of the whole thing, we recommend a long shot from the south side (the entrance to Qianmen Street).
