Beijing Downpour with Kids｜This Homestay in Huairou is Perfect for Relaxing!

👋Hey ladies! It's weekend outing time with the kids! This time, we headed to Shentangyu in Huairou.
😭Honestly, we didn't expect the rain in Huairou to be this heavy. It was pure luck that we weren't trapped by the downpour!
🙆Although the rain disrupted our outdoor plans, it gave us the chance to fully enjoy a relaxing stay at a Huairou homestay with the kids!
👉This homestay is managed by a group of young people, creating a laid-back atmosphere. They only appear when needed and won't disturb you otherwise!
🎠Kids' Play Area:
✅The moment we entered, we were captivated by the children's area in the lobby! With its three-story high ceiling and warm-toned decor, every photo looks like it has a filter!
✅There's a mini kitchen, a picture book nook, a big slide, and various toy cars! The kids played until they were completely worn out!
✅The area is surrounded by safety fences, so moms can relax on the nearby seating with a cup of coffee, occasionally glancing at their happy kids. It's truly "kids burn energy, moms recharge"!
🏡Homestay Rooms:
✅We chose a tatami-style room to prevent the kids from falling off the bed. With two beds pushed together, the kids could roll around freely without worry!
✅Our room was on the third floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a mountain view. On rainy days, lying in bed and watching the misty scenery was incredibly soothing!
✅The bathroom had separate wet and dry areas, and the large bathtub doubled as a baby pool. A warm soak in the evening drove away the chill, ensuring a good night's sleep!
✅The room also came with thoughtful touches like snacks, chilled drinks, and a welcome fruit platter.
☕️Food & Coffee:
We only had breakfast and dinner, but the flavors were truly impressive.
✅Breakfast options included kids' and adults' meals, fresh, healthy, and thoughtfully balanced—perfect for little ones!
✅The braised pork with chestnuts was tender, sweet, and savory—perfect with rice! If you love sweet-savory dishes, go for it!
✅Next to the restaurant, there's a coffee station. Even if you're not staying overnight, you can stop by for lunch, a coffee break, or just to relax and recharge.
🏠Courtyard:
✅The courtyard is charming, filled with flowers, plants, and adorable little signs everywhere.
✅There's a swimming pool for kids, and the lawn features swings, slides, and other play equipment.
✅When we were leaving, we saw staff cleaning and waterproofing the pool for the next guests—such thoughtful service!
💦Homestay Surroundings:
✅There's a creek nearby where you can take the kids to wade and catch fish when the water level is low.
✅A short walk leads to the Shentangyu Scenic Area, where you can spot traces of the wild Great Wall on the mountains.
✅The area is surrounded by chestnut and walnut trees, and the old village setting is incredibly healing!
