The Beauty of Eastern Architecture

Standing in front of the Forbidden City, you don’t just see history — you feel it. Endless red walls, golden roofs glowing in the sun, and a silence that somehow cuts through the crowds. Once home to emperors, this massive palace complex is a world of its own — layered, majestic, and mind-blowingly detailed.
🎫 Tickets sell out fast, especially during peak season. It’s best to book online 7 days in advance (60rmb), but — plot twist — my friend managed to score a last-minute one at the entrance. Don’t count on luck though.
🛂 Bring your passport — they’ll scan it instead of giving you a paper ticket.
➡️Come in the afternoon - fewer people. But don't be too late as you'll have to pass several security spots before getting there. Last entry: 4 p.m.
📍 The walk through the Forbidden City ends at Jingshan Park, and trust me: don’t skip it. Hike to the top for the best panoramic view of the golden rooftops — the perfect ending to an unforgettable visit. Price: 10 rmb.
⏰ Give yourself at least 2–3 hours, and wear comfy shoes. It’s huge.
