Introducing Jiuchongshan

Jiuchong Mountain is located in the central part of Nanri Island, Putian City, Fujian Province, within the territory of Gangnan Village. The name "Jiuchong Mountain" stems from the nine overlapping peaks. The mountain range, steep and winding, stretches for miles, creating a magnificent spectacle, resembling a giant dragon lying across Nanri Island. Hence, it's also known as "Jiulong Mountain."

Mount Kujong, with its strategic location, has been a battleground since ancient times. Some fortifications and fortifications from the wartime period still remain. Over 20 years ago, it was a base for PLA troops and remains a key military location today. A radar station still stands on the mountain.

Standing at the old radar station on Mount Kujong, you can see two small islands in the sea to the south. These are Wuqiu Island, one of the 18 Nanri Islands. Wuqiu Island is currently under the administration of Kinmen County, Taiwan Province. Nationalist troops are still stationed on the island. It is also the only outlying island of Taiwan that has not yet achieved the "three links" policy.

From Kuju Mountain, you can gaze out over the boundless ocean (the South China Sea) to the south. To the north, you can see the numerous small islands of Nanri Island. Today, Nanri Island's wind turbines are a rare and beautiful feature of the island's scenery. Standing atop Kuju Mountain, you can admire the windmills up close and the vast ocean in the distance. The soothing blue sea lies beneath your feet.

Subtropical monsoon climate; Kujongyama is the highest peak of Nanri Island. If the weather is good, you can see the entire Nanri Island. There are also some military relics on the island. It is suitable for travel in all seasons.
