The Forbidden City, also known as the Forbidden City, is the world's greatest imperial palace! Built between 1406 and 1420, it served as the residence and center of power for 24 emperors from the Ming and Qing dynasties. It was converted into a museum in 1925 and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. 📍 Easy access: Take subway Line 1 to Tian'anmen East/West in central Beijing and walk straight in. (Don't forget to book your entrance ticket in advance and Tian'anmen tickets.)
