Old Beijing Hutong Stroll | Check in to the Century-old Changes of Dongmianhua Hutong

Mianhua Hutong is located inside Andingmen, Dongcheng District, Beijing. This hutong, carrying a century of history, holds many stories! 📖

🏮 Ming Dynasty Old Dream:
It originally belonged to Zhaohui Jinggong Fang and was initially named Mianhua Hutong. During the Qing Dynasty, it was still under the jurisdiction of the Bordered Yellow Banner, continuing the old name. In 1965, it was renamed Jiaodaokou South Seventh Alley, briefly changed to Dayuejin Road Third Alley in 1966, and only in 1979 was it given its current cute name~

✨ Architectural Wonder:
The 448-meter-long hutong features many arch-shaped doors blending Chinese and Western styles, perfect for snapping unique photos! The brick-carved archway at No. 15 courtyard is a treasured cultural relic under protection. This was originally the old residence of General Fengshan from Jilin in the late Qing Dynasty, highly recommended for a visit!

🎭 Cradle of Drama:
No. 39 courtyard is even more remarkable! It was once the residence of Beiyang warlord Jin Yunpeng and has been the campus base of the Central Academy of Drama since 1950. Many stars have emerged from here!
