Weekend check-in on the classic capital route! A city full of historical charm, where every alley and every building tells a story. This itinerary is well-balanced, allowing you to feel the ancient capital’s atmosphere without getting too tired. Highly recommend this route~
🚩 DAY 1: Arrive in Beijing by high-speed train|Temple of Heaven|Peking Duck Feast
Check in at the Set Hotel outside Jianguomen after arriving at Beijing South Railway Station at noon, with super convenient transportation. The first stop is the Temple of Heaven Park (No. 1 Tiantan Eastli, Dongcheng District), open until 10 PM, very friendly! In the evening, go to Huajia Yiyuan for Peking duck. The group set meal is great value, letting you enjoy authentic Beijing flavors and their signature roast duck~
🚩 DAY 2: National Museum|Summer Palace
Slept in on the second day because the National Museum appointment was only in the afternoon. In the morning, leisurely stroll around Chongwenmen and Qianmen, then enter Tiananmen after security check at noon. A reminder: book in advance which security entrance to use and be sure to check transportation and entrance locations ahead of time. Spent the afternoon visiting Tiananmen Square, the National Museum, and the Imperial Ancestral Temple, successfully avoiding the crowds at the Forbidden City while admiring the royal red bricks and glazed tiles, feeling very satisfied. In the evening, have a hearty meal at Ziguangyuan and buy some cooked food as supplies for the Great Wall hike the next day.
🚩 DAY 3: Great Wall Trek|Sunset at Summer Palace
Early morning high-speed train to Badaling Great Wall. Seeing so many people right after getting off the train was not a good sign. Not knowing how long the cable car line would be, decisively hiked up from the south slope, climbing all the way to the South Seventh Tower. Experienced the crowded north slope of the Great Wall, enjoying Ziguangyuan’s braised beef on the wall while admiring the scenery—so relaxing. Checking the time, caught the 12:30 PM S2 train, quickly took the small train down the south slope. Enjoyed the scenery along the S2 route, and after more than an hour returned to the city. After recharging, took a taxi straight to the Summer Palace. Climbed Xianglu Peak, enjoyed the breeze, took a boat ride, saw the Seventeen-Arch Bridge, and ended today’s special forces journey with the sunset at the Summer Palace.
🚩 DAY 4: Boating at Beihai|Jingshan Imperial City
The last day is a relaxed visit to Beihai Park (No. 1 Wenjin Street, Xicheng District) and Jingshan Park. Renting a small boat is super enjoyable~ In the afternoon, stroll around nearby alleys and buy some Daoxiangcun pastries as souvenirs for a perfect ending!
🍜 Authentic Food Recommendations:
Besides the must-try Peking duck, also recommend trying zhajiangmian (fried sauce noodles) and mutton hotpot. No. 69 Fangzhuanchang for zhajiangmian and Jubao Yuan for hotpot are old local favorites~
