Mudanjiang Snow Village: Step into a fairy tale world, winter is the time to come here!
Half of winter's romance is in Snow Village! Mudanjiang, this snow-covered wonderland, transforms into something out of a fairy tale book every December.
Thick snow mushrooms pile up on the roofs of every house, and red lanterns hang under the eaves. As night falls, the warm yellow light reflects on the white snow, making it feel like you've stepped into a dream kingdom. Go to Yangcao Mountain in the early morning to watch the sunrise; the sea of clouds is wrapped in snow mist, and when the sun shines down, the entire snowfield sparkles like scattered diamonds. In the afternoon, have fun in the snow, play snow tubing, or ride a horse-drawn sleigh; even with rosy cheeks from the cold, you won't want to stop.
Don't forget to try a pot of Northeast Iron Pot Stew; the corn pancakes stuck to the side of the pot soak up the broth, and eating them with sauerkraut and pork belly will warm you from head to toe. Stay a night in a heated kang room, listening to the wind and snow outside the window – this is what winter should be like!
