Yes, you read that right — the famous Forbidden City afternoon tea that’s always so hard to book is now available right in Qianmen, and no reservation is needed!
The shop’s interior is beautifully decorated in rich traditional Chinese style, full of red tones and elegant palace vibes. All the pastries are freshly baked on-site every afternoon — not pre-made — and each one is crafted with amazing detail.
Here are a few must-tries:
🍰 “Persimmon Blessing” Cake (柿柿如意) – Symbolizing good fortune, this mousse cake has a lovely filling and delicate chocolate ruyi decoration. Beautiful and meaningful!
🍰 “Full of Luck” Cake (福气满满) – Stunning presentation and a light, refreshing flavor with a hidden filling — not too sweet and perfectly balanced.
🥧 Traditional Chinese Pastries – Try the Ephemeral Flower, Peach Blossom, Clover, and Butterfly pastries — each one shaped so beautifully you’ll almost feel guilty eating them… and they’re only ¥8 each!
🫘 Lotus & Red Bean Soup – Thick, fragrant, and topped with osmanthus. A comforting, nourishing treat — especially nice for ladies.
☕️ “Wanchun Golden Blessing” Latte (万春金福拿铁) – Slightly bitter, not too sweet — pairs perfectly with the desserts.
📍 Wanchun Jinfu Afternoon Tea, Qianmen Branch
(Just outside Qianmen Station, Line 8)
Open 24 hours, making it the perfect stop before or after watching the flag-raising ceremony!
