Introducing Lushan Secret Cave Scenic Area

The Secret Cave was constructed as an underground command structure for countering and preventing revisionism, as Sino-Soviet relations deteriorated and China faced the threat of nuclear war from the Soviet Union. The Secret Cave bears witness to the Third Front construction period, reflecting its glory and the fruits of wisdom and hard work. It embodies my country's military defense philosophy and serves as a model for underground air defense military engineering.

The existing 17 buildings, 167 rooms, covering 3,936.63 square meters, are located on both sides of the river, nestled against the mountain. The engine room, boiler room, garage, kitchen, and barracks are all constructed of irregularly shaped stone blocks, each meticulously crafted. They feature drainage holes at the base to prevent moisture, and the roof is so sturdy that it remains leak-proof despite over 40 years of wind and rain. Even in peacetime today, the secret cave holds great historical and educational value.
