When you think of autumn, you think of the reed marshes, and when you think of the reed marshes, you head to the Grand Canal Forest Park for a stroll. This seems to be the law of autumn.
A vast expanse of reed marshes is a grand celebration of autumn. The reeds, dressed in golden feathers, rustle in the wind, standing by the water, softly whispering an autumnal secret.
The "Wind through the Reeds" at Grand Canal Forest Park is a classic spot for reed viewing. The endless stretches of reeds sway with the wind, quietly conveying the cycle of the seasons. The most beloved season here is the reserved and profound autumn.
⭐️Features:
1. Large planting area of reeds with different scenery throughout the year, fewer tourists, allowing for undisturbed photography.
2. Wooden boardwalks are built among the reeds, connecting the entire scenic area for easy walking. The grass huts built on the canal bank offer wide views and beautiful scenery, perfect for photo-taking, sightseeing, and resting.
📸Photo Tips:
1. The best viewing period in autumn is around October, lasting until early winter at the latest.
2. The best time for photos is between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, when the low light makes the reeds glow golden and the atmosphere more profound.
3. Shooting with the light behind you makes the sky bluer in the background of the reeds, while backlighting the reeds creates a dreamy texture.
4. When the afternoon sun is too strong, try shooting people with backlight or spot metering; shooting with the sun in front causes glare and harsh light.
5. Pay special attention to a red low grass area where a small wooden ladder is set up beside the boardwalk. Using the ladder, you can go down to the fields and walk to the water’s edge for an intimate encounter with the reeds. This seems to be the only place to reach the water.
🔸Tips for Visiting:
1. Grand Canal Forest Park is a large suburban park, great for walking and cycling.
2. The park has designated camping areas; on good weather weekends, you can bring your gear for camping and picnics.
🚙Transportation Tips: Grand Canal Forest Park is very large with many entrances. The "Wind through the Reeds" area is closest to West Gate 6. Navigate directly to Grand Canal Forest Park (West Gate 6). There is ample parking outside the gate, and it’s just over 100 meters on foot to the reed marshes. Walking east along the boardwalk leads you through the best parts of the reed marshes.
