[Oita Prefecture] The prefecture's most scenic spot: Yufugawa Gorge

We visited the Yufugawa Gorge, a hidden gem and one of the prefecture's most scenic spots, straddling Beppu City and Yufu City. 🚗💨

The 12-kilometer-long gorge features over 40 waterfalls cascading down the rock face. Its beautiful scenery has earned it the nickname "The Tyrol of the East." 🏞️

The smooth rock surfaces created by water erosion and the fantastical scenery of the moss-covered ground evoke a sense of the mystic nature. 😌
