Beppu Ropeway

Hello! Today, I’d like to introduce a travel destination not far from Fukuoka. Starting from Hakata Station, we took the Sonic train to Beppu Station using the JR Northern Pass. From there, we hopped on a bus for about 20 minutes to reach Beppu Ropeway.
Upon arrival, you can purchase a ticket for the ropeway, which costs 1,800 yen per person (round trip). During the ride up, there’s a staff member providing commentary in Japanese (though I couldn’t understand it, haha). However, the view of the autumn leaves along the way makes the trip absolutely worthwhile.
We visited at the end of November. The trees at the base were adorned with colorful autumn leaves, but as we ascended, the weather became quite chilly, offering a completely different atmosphere. At the top, the trees had already shed their leaves, creating a winter-like vibe. Sometimes, you might even be lucky enough to see snow! If you’re visiting Fukuoka, don’t forget to stop by here—it’s truly heartwarming!
