Introducing Yuanjia Village

Yuanjia Village inherits the characteristics of Tujia architecture. The eaves of the village gate are tilted upwards, and a plaque with the words "Yuanjia Village" is placed in the middle. After entering the door, a tiger lies in front, with a child and a giant ape sitting beside it. This is the totem of the Tujia people. They have believed since ancient times that "the tiger is the father and the ape is the mother". The three major characteristics of the Tujia people have been heard of before, namely "driving corpses, crying at weddings, and poisoning", which are still unsolved mysteries. Xilankapu is a major feature of the Tujia people. It is woven by married women with colorful threads. The craftsmanship is exquisite and it takes a long time. It is the only private building within the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area.
