Kyushu 4-Day Travel Guide

📍Travel Overview
This trip starts in Fukuoka and covers Beppu, Mount Aso, Kumamoto, and then returns to Fukuoka.
🚩Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up a rental car at Fukuoka Airport and head straight to Beppu Kaizan accommodation (2 hours). Enjoy ramen and beer, then relax in a private open-air bath for the first night.
Day 2: Wake up early and visit African Safari. Explore Yufuin, return to Beppu for the Hell Tour, and visit Kifune Shrine to touch the white snake (symbolizing gentleness). Clap your hands twice and listen to the shrine owner's powerful prayers. Head to the rooftop for breathtaking views. Have dinner at a restaurant of your choice and visit Beppu Global Tower to enjoy the city and hot spring steam views.
Day 3: Leave Beppu and visit the Attack on Titan Museum to appreciate the creator's works. Stop by Oyama Dam to see the reservoir and unexpectedly stunning views of the vast forest. Proceed to Mount Aso, enjoying the dramatic terrain and winding roads. Pass the rest area and ticket booth to reach the fully open Nakadake Crater, marveling at the spectacular scenery. Head down the mountain towards Kumamoto and check into a hotel. Don't miss Kumamoto's specialty, horse meat, and make reservations at a highly-rated restaurant on Tabelog.
Day 4: Start early with a drive-thru breakfast at McDonald's, then enjoy a stroll at Kumamoto Castle. Return to Fukuoka via a scenic coastal route instead of the highway. In Fukuoka, savor Ichiran ramen, visit Fukuoka Tower for views, stroll through Saitozaki Animal Forest, and finally return to the airport.
