Mount Yufu is one of Oita's most iconic mountains. The moment I stepped onto the trailhead, a breathtaking view unfolded before me.
Under a blue sky, a vibrant green grassland stretched out as far as the eye could see. Mount Yufu, also known as "Bungo Fuji," towers majestically in the distance, a beautiful sight reminiscent of Mount Fuji. Even gazing up from the trailhead, its overwhelming presence made me feel the power of nature.
While many hikers were on hand, the charm of this place is that it can be enjoyed even without climbing. Just taking a deep breath of the crisp air instantly lightened my heart.
It's said that Aso-Kuju National Park shows different faces with each season. In spring, the flowers of Miyamakirishima irises adorn the mountainside, while in summer, the scenery is dazzling green, in autumn, the leaves change color, and in winter, the snowscape. I truly felt that this is a place that offers new impressions no matter when you visit.
For those who want to experience Oita's nature, the Mount Yufu trailhead is the perfect starting point. It was an impressive spot worth stopping by during your trip.
