Christmas in Berlin: An experience not to miss

Ever since my good friend moved to Berlin 20 years ago, I’ve made it a point to visit at least once a year. I’ve basically witnessed the city’s incredible development and growth firsthand.
At first, I loved hanging out around KuDamm. Then, for a while, Potsdamer Platz was the hotspot. More recently, Berlin’s center has gradually shifted eastward. Near the East Train Station, cool new clubs and scenes popped up. Every time I visit, I pick a new neighborhood to explore.
But the government district, apart from the Parliament building, was always off my list — I thought it was still an unfinished construction zone.
This trip, despite it being November and chilly 🥶, I finally made a point to check out that area. The cold weather meant I had to walk quickly, so it was more of a glance than a deep dive — definitely didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I wanted!
Start & End: Alexanderplatz in front of Berlin Central Station, then crossing the river via a pedestrian bridge 🌉
Distance: 3 km total
Time needed: At least 1.5 hours, including time to snap some photos 📸
A quick but meaningful stroll to see Berlin’s changing heart 💙
