Christmas Tree

The Christmas tree standing in the middle of the snowy field had a presence even before its lights were turned on. The surroundings were pure white, and the air was as clear as glass. From a distance, it looked small, but as you got closer, the tree appeared quite large. Standing beneath it, you could feel the world momentarily quiet down.

As the lights began to flicker on one by one, a sparkle spread across the snow. They were just simple bulbs, yet they felt strangely warm. People stood silently, gazing at it. Perhaps everyone was thinking the same thing—Ah, this is simply beautiful. No reason is needed.

A cold wind blew, making fingertips sting, but it was hard to leave that spot.
