Bilbao's modern bridge

Spain's Atlantic Coast Pilgrimage ~ Basque Country
On a sunny day, I walked across Bilbao's Zubizuri Bridge and discovered it to be a unique modern gem. The curved white bridge and patterned glass floor give this promenade across the estuary a futuristic feel. I paused for about 15 to 20 minutes, leisurely strolling along it, taking photos, and admiring the play of light and shadow on the water beneath my feet.
Is it worth a visit? Yes, if you appreciate modern design and want a unique stroll along the estuary. How much time do you need? Half an hour is plenty to enjoy the scenery, or you can walk at a leisurely pace. Is it accessible? Fully accessible: there are no steps, making it perfect for strollers, wheelchairs, or bicycles. What amenities are nearby? Cafés, bars, and benches are found at the end of the promenade, especially near the university and Pascal de la Paz. In short: It's a simple and elegant bridge, and its architecture injects a modern touch into a city with a classical soul.
