Blue Lake

The Bintan Islands are becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in Riau. Not only is it surrounded by beautiful seas, Bintan also has an enchanting lake. The color is turquoise blue, the name is Telaga Biru. The location of the Lake or Blue Lake is in Busung Village, Tanjung Uban District. The distance is quite close from Tanjungpinang, only about 45 minutes. Blue Lake can also be reached via Tanjung Uban, just a 15-minute drive. Blue Lake is a basin that used to be a sand mining area. When it was still operating in the 1980s, the sand mining in this place was exported to Singapore. However, in the era of President Soeharto, mining activities were stopped. This place was then left alone. When the mine is no longer in operation, the ex-excavated pit is naturally filled with rainwater so that it eventually forms a lake.
