Bintan Blue Lake and Desert

The Blue Lake in Bintan really wowed us. The water is so blue until it almost looks fake – like something out of a postcard. Under the sunlight, the colours change from turquoise to deep blue, super nice for photos. Hard to believe this place used to be a sand mining site – now it looks like a hidden gem.

Just nearby is the Bintan desert. Walking on the sand dunes, with the big open sky above, felt like we were overseas in the Middle East, but actually just a short ferry ride from Singapore. The contrast between the calm Blue Lake and the dramatic desert landscape made it extra special.

Really worth visiting if you’re in Bintan. Shiok experience and confirm good for Instagram shots!
