🏞️ Overview / First impressions
When we arrived at Bipengou, we arrived in the morning. The sky was clear and bright—we saw snow-capped peaks, golden leaves, and a cool breeze blowing through us—it truly felt like we were in a postcard, a "Little Switzerland."
The air was thin, and we were out of breath as we climbed higher. But when we took a deep breath and admired the views of the forest, waterfalls, and crystal-clear lakes—it felt more "grand" than we had expected.
Sometimes we didn't reach every spot because some areas were covered in snow/ice, or the paths were blocked—but the views we did get were blindingly beautiful.
✅ What I really appreciated:
• Spectacular views/nature—mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and colorful forests—every spot we could stop to take photos at was a magical sight.
• There's a well-managed transportation system within the park—we didn't have to walk all the way—buses and electric golf carts make it easier to access the viewpoints.
• Each season has its own unique charm—if you visit in autumn, Yellow leaves dot the paths / If you go in winter, some areas will have snow / ice — but the light / shadows / atmosphere will be different.
• A feeling of being "close to the mountains" — from some angles, it's like standing right in front of the mountains — it doesn't feel like you're looking from afar.
⚠️ What we encountered / Notes to consider
• Weather: Some areas are cold / windy — especially at higher elevations / in the early evening.
• If the sky is overcast / cloudy, you may not be able to see the snow-capped mountain peaks clearly. — Reviews say that overcast days are "beautiful in a different way."
• Some trails are closed / there's still a lot of ice / snow — be careful of slippery conditions.
• When buying tickets / entering the observation deck — be sure to schedule your time well, as there are "blackout / late arrival" times (e.g., no entry into the park after 1:00 PM / 3:00 PM).
• Traveling to the park takes — if coming from Chengdu, it takes about 3-4 hours or more.
• If you come for a day, you might feel rushed — if you want to capture a lot of angles. Stay near the park for one night.
🧳 Tips/Tip: "If We Go"
• If possible, stay near the entrance/inside the park for a night. This will allow you to start your trip early and have more time.
• Wear warm clothing/layers/scarves/gloves, as temperatures can change quickly.
• Avoid staying in the park past the "no entry/no stay" hours — keep an eye on the times.
• Make full use of the park's buses/golf carts — avoid traveling too far.
• Check the weather in advance — if it's cloudy/rainy, the view may be blurry.
• Take quick photos at your desired spots — some spots are crowded/time-poor.
• Carry oxygen cans/medicines, in case high temperatures make you tired.
• If traveling with a group/people unfamiliar with the area, rent a car with a driver or join a guided tour — this will be safer and more flexible.
