Day 2: Slovakia

After leaving Hungary, we immediately traveled to Bratislava, the capital of neighboring Slovakia. This city of just 470,000 boasts a tranquil and rustic atmosphere, a heartfelt local culture, and a relaxed lifestyle.

The Bratislava Castle, perched majestically on a hillside by the Danube River, was once the seat of power where successive kings were crowned. From the summit, panoramic views of the city and the Danube are unobstructed. The clear, cloudless sky and radiant sunshine illuminate the Danube, making it even clearer and more tranquil, its waters even more azure, earning its nickname, the Blue Danube.

This day's itinerary begins at the castle, where we stroll to St. Martin's Church and then explore the old town, experiencing the interweaving of history and culture and savoring the tranquility and poetic charm of the town.
