Budapest, the Pearl of the Danube!

Ephemeral Glimpses | The Pearl of the Danube - Budapest
When it comes to the splendor on the plains, Florence is undoubtedly enchanting; for seaside romance, Venice stands unrivaled; but the imperial capital nestled between mountains and rivers, only Budapest can be called peerless.
— So praised by 19th-century poets and travelers.
Those who often linger on social platforms will recognize that images of Budapest are often accompanied by the melody of "Gloomy Sunday" — not gloomy, but a kind of deep golden lyricism, like whispers under the dim light of a café, or a glance back at the Chain Bridge at night. The music and the city have long been spiritually connected.
I have always been fascinated by things with a golden patina of time. As a child, I collected many European stamps and old coins, watching the embossed patterns flow like water when held up to the light. In the afternoon or under a desk lamp, it felt as if I could touch the warmth of a distant era. Back then, I wanted to be a storyteller; now I still hold the pen and move forward. Though the dream is far away, it always shines bright.
The most precious part of traveling is spending dawn and dusk with a city. From the rose-colored mist awakening Castle Hill to the Chain Bridge adorned with lights like a golden ribbon in the twilight haze, I have witnessed every changing face of Budapest. This "twin city" on both banks of the Danube once witnessed imperial glory. Though it no longer speaks of past power, it still unfolds a golden scroll for the world with its thermal baths, ancient castles, yellow trams, and late-night cafés. The vicissitudes and poetry, grandeur and warmth, blend here in perfect harmony.
