Uzbekistan Trip: One of my Favorite Destinations On Earth

This Uzbekistan trip was all about wandering Bukhara’s ancient streets and soaking up epic history — and yes, the architecture here is straight up Insta-worthy! 😍✨

Top Spots to Visit in Bukhara

1. Poyi Kalon – QCG8+C36, Bukhara
Start your adventure at this legendary religious complex. It’s the heart of old Bukhara and you can’t miss the stunning domes.

2. Kalyan Minaret – Khakikat St 9
Known as the “Tower of Death,” this iconic structure rises above the city. Come anytime; it’s open 24 hours for those golden hour night shots!

3. Mir-i-Arab Madrasa & Kalan Mosque
Right next to the minaret, these two gems offer quiet courtyards to escape the crowds and admire tile work up close.

4. Khoja Ismat Mosque – QC63+CC2
A lesser-known spot! Pro tip: It’s much calmer in early morning or late afternoon — perfect for uninterrupted reflection (and no photobombs).

5. Old City of Bukhara – QCG7+HXV, Khodja Nurobobod St
Get lost in the maze-like lanes, discovering hidden madrasas and cool artisan shops.

Food Stop
Don’t miss Cafe Wishbone Bukhara at Ulitsa Khakikat 1A. Grab a coffee or try their plov for a satisfying local meal — staff speak English and there’s free WiFi!

Transport Tip:
The best hack is to walk everywhere in central Bukhara — everything’s packed close together. Bring comfy shoes!

Destination Tips:
Carry cash (Uzbek som) for markets. Most places don’t take cards. Bukhara is safe; just mind your valuables in busy alleys. Weather’s hottest June-August, ideal March-May.
