[Onsen Prefecture Oita] A flower temple with beautiful flowers of all seasons [Kongosan Choanji Temple]

Kongo-san Choan-ji Temple, believed to have been founded by the Bodhisattva Ninmon in 718, is commonly known as the Temple of Flowers.

Cherry blossoms and hydrangeas bloom in spring, and autumn foliage in autumn. Local television stations often visit the temple to cover the sights, especially when the temple's more than 10,000 rhododendrons bloom.

Nationally designated Important Cultural Properties: Wooden statues of Taroten and two children, and a bronze Lotus Sutra are housed in the storage room. Admission fee: ¥500.

Many stone monuments remain along the walking trail, and a 30-minute walk from the parking lot takes you to the Yayama Castle ruins, where you can enjoy magnificent views.

The Kunisaki Peninsula is known as the "Home of Buddhas," and many stone cultural assets remain.

If you're interested, why not take a temple tour?
