A quiet temple where the blue sea and flower path meet

#June Travel Support Fund

If you climb the forest path leading to the peak of Taejongdae, you will see the white temple Taejongsa Temple embracing the sea. Built in 1976, this place belongs to the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. In the summer, about 5,000 hydrangeas surround the temple, transforming it into the largest hydrangea colony in Korea. The sight of the five-colored hydrangeas in light pink, blue, and purple swaying in the sea breeze creates a spectacular sight as if flowers are pouring down onto the sea.

You can take the Taejongdae Danubi Train and get off at the entrance of the temple, or walk along the forest path to Taejongsa Temple. The scent of the sea permeates the path, and the shade of the forest conveys the peace of nature.

The coastal cliffs and seascape behind the temple approach you like a quiet ridge created by flowers and forests. When you want to forget the busyness of everyday life, Taejongsa Temple becomes a healing space where you can soothe your mind among flowers, the sea, and the forest.
