A day trip to Busan's coastline 🌊 A panoramic grand slam! Busan boasts a bustling downtown, but embarking on a relaxing day along Haeundae is a great way to explore and unwind!
Meet at Haeundae Subway Station Exit 5 at 9:45 AM and depart for the Mapo Capsule Train to Cheongsapo Station for breathtaking ocean views reminiscent of Korea's Little Kamakura. Continue to the Instagram-worthy Skywalk and Oryukdo Skywalk observatory, and explore the coastal Baeksand Cultural Village and Gamcheon Cultural Village. The tour concludes at Haeundae Subway Station Exit 5 around 7:30 PM. It's a dopamine-inducing experience.
This day trip highly recommends the capsule train ride, gazing out at the ocean along the way, for a truly relaxing and relaxing experience. 💙 Busan's coastal charm and cultural and creative atmosphere are both chill and worth visiting.
🔹Recommended Attractions📌
1️⃣ Haeundae Blue Line Park
📍 116 Cheongsapo-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan
🕘 Opening Hours: Monthly, until 9:30 PM in midsummer
🎟️ Purchase tickets online / Arrive early to purchase tickets at the location (runs are less frequent)
First departure from Haeundae Blue Line Park. Book tickets in advance / Full-day tours available depending on your group. This time, we all rode together, no need to share with strangers. The scenic coastal scenery is uninterrupted, and the cool ocean breeze is so relaxing and comfortable. 😌
2️⃣ Blue Line Park Capsule Train, Cheongsapo Station
📍 116 Cheongsapo-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan
The most surprising thing about this trip was the capsule train! This mini and adorable train can accommodate four people. Take the slender train from Haeundae to Cheongsapo, where you'll be greeted by the ocean 🌊, the sounds of birds and insects. A healthy walking trail runs parallel to the train tracks. It's a perfect place to check in along the way—perfect for couples, friends, or even those on their own!
3️⃣ Cheongsapo Doheenae Skywalk
📍 3-9 Dongdongsan, Haeundae-gu, Busan
🕘 09:00-18:00
After getting off the capsule train, remember to take photos and check in at Ko-Kamakura after exiting the station. Photos are only allowed on the road when the light is green. Be careful and be mindful of oncoming traffic on the first floor. The walk to the observatory takes about three minutes, offering a 360-degree panoramic view of the Cheongsapo coastline. The weather was beautiful that day, and the view was stunning. Many people were sitting on the glass floor taking photos. The waves 🌊 were just falling, and the sunlight reflected a bit, so unfortunately, only the sky was visible.
4️⃣ Oryukdo Skywalk
📍 137 Oryukdo-ro, Nam-gu, Busan
🕘 June-September 9:00-19:00 (Last admission 18:50) October-May 9:00-18:00 (Last admission 17:50)
A must-see in Busan! Walk up the mountain road and take photos of the panoramic views of the Oryukdo Islands. You'll need to wear shoe covers at the entrance to the Skywalk, so walk slowly as it can be a bit slippery. The glass-enclosed skywalk extends directly out to the sea, with the azure water beneath your feet. It's a bit thrilling but exhilarating, allowing you to fully experience the beauty of Busan's ocean.
5️⃣ Baekseon Beach Culture Village (흰여울문화마을)
📍 1043 Yeongseon-dong 4(sa)-ga, Yeongdo-gu, Busan
🕘 Open year-round
🚌 Busan Subway Line 2 - Nampo Station - Transfer to a bus or taxi directly from Haeundae. It takes about 5 minutes and costs approximately 3,800 won.
The seaside trail is still under renovation. The day-long tour guide will explain the history and development of shipbuilding in the culture village, highlight check-in spots, and nearby attractions. It's perfect for a full day of exploring! A map is available at the entrance. Along the way, you'll find colorful murals and handmade shops, creating a relaxing and artistic atmosphere. A passerby even asked me and my friend if we were on a tour group, as it saves time and energy, allowing us to take "life photos" (a popular term in Korea these days) and experience the artistic atmosphere. For an independent trip, I recommend spending a morning or afternoon taking photos, browsing shops, and enjoying coffee (there are foot massage cafes, cat cafes, and Lisbon Cafes, among others).
6️⃣ Busan Gamcheon Culture Village (부산감천문화마을)
📍 203 Gamnae 2-ro, Saha-gu, Busan
🚌 Take a bus from Toseong Station or Goejeong Station on Busan Subway Line 1.
The Sky Top Observatory at Gamcheon Culture Village offers superb views from its elevated position, overlooking the entire village and coastline. Remember to allow time for photos. There are many popular check-in spots, including rain boots, a mural depicting the Little Prince and the Desert Fox, a BTS mural, an observatory with a panoramic view of the village depicting the Little Prince and the Moon, and the I Love Gamcheon sign. There are also many small shops, so if you visit alone, it would probably take most of the day.
▶️Dinner
"Haeundae Ginseng Chicken Soup" (해운대소문난삼계탕), a time-honored establishment
📍6 Jungdong 2-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea
🕘Weekdays: 10:30 AM–3:00 PM; 5:00 PM–9:00 PM
The tour bus returned to Haeundae at almost 7:30 PM, and there was a bit of traffic. We stayed nearby for dinner and searched for the legendary Haeundae Ginseng Chicken Soup. It turned out to be near the hotel, not far from the beach and traditional markets. The staff recommended local ginseng chicken soup and Korean ginseng chicken soup. It closes at 9 PM, and the ginseng chicken soup also contains glutinous rice. Leave time to eat. They also come with a bottle of wine—it feels like a nourishing treat for autumn and winter.
🔹Itinerary Tips:
This day trip from Haeundae doesn't have frequent capsule trains, so it's recommended to book your tickets early. Since it was fully booked online, I decided to join the one-day tour. The Cheongsapo Observatory and Skywalk feature glass floors, allowing those with a fear of heights to freely explore and even walk on the thicker structures. The Culture Village has many slopes and stairs, so remember to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated. Having fun is paramount.
🔹Transportation & Food Recommendations
In Busan, T-money cards can be used for subways and buses, and some friends have used one-day passes. There are many restaurants near Haeundae Station, including BBQ, sushi, and ginseng chicken soup, which are excellent value for money! You can also find traditional snacks like tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and gimbap near the Culture Village and in Gamcheon-dong Food Street.
🔹Practical Tips for Busan Itineraries:
1. The Haeundae Blue Line Park can have long lines during peak season, so avoid weekends and holidays for a more enjoyable experience.
2. The best time to take photos at the White Sands Culture Village is between 4 and 5 pm, with excellent lighting.
3. The Oryukdo Skywalk may be closed in rainy days or strong winds, so be sure to check the weather.
4. If you're taking a day trip, there are different stops: Busan Station, Seomyeon Station, and Haeundae Station.
Busan offers a relaxing and relaxing experience with its stunning ocean views, refreshing sea breezes, and artistic atmosphere. You'll fall in love with it the first time you visit. Each attraction from Haeundae has its own unique charm, so whether you're checking in or relaxing, enjoy the sights and eat, and experience the city's leisurely pace!
