As a historic route, the Qingqi River, Xuchang's mother river, is surrounded by numerous cultural resources. Using the Qingqi River as a vehicle, this project explores the water culture, Three Kingdoms culture, and 'slow life' culture along its banks, creating a vibrant cultural landscape of Xuchang.
In May 2012, the municipal Party Committee and government, adhering to a people-oriented approach, included the upgrading and renovation of the Qingqi River Park and other areas in their key urban construction projects, aiming to provide a more livable environment for citizens. Following the completion of the renovation project in June 2015, the Qingqi River Park has become "a green canvas showcasing ecological civilization, a historical showcase of cultural change, and a vibrant attraction attracting the city's residents."
Qingqi River Garden, also known as the Thousand Acres Garden, is 4.5 kilometers long and covers a total area of 1,054 acres. It consists of nine garden landscapes, including the "Seven Sons Garden", "Wenji Garden", "Brotherhood Garden", "Desheng Garden" and "Shizhu Garden".
The park has a warm temperate subhumid monsoon climate. The fragrance of flowers continues all year round. The scenery changes with every step, making it a suitable place for travel in all seasons.
The Qingqi River Park comprises nine landscaped gardens, including the Seven Sons Garden, Wenji Garden, Brotherhood Garden, Desheng Garden, and Poetry and Bamboo Garden. A stroll through the urban area, surrounded by evergreen trees and flowers, creates a breathtakingly beautiful landscape that is truly a delight.
