Oryukdo Skywalk is one of my most memorable sightseeing spots in Busan. Located in the southern part of the city, not far from Haeundae, I took a bus from Busan Station to the Oryukdo SK View stop and walked for about 10 minutes. The walkway leads to a seaside cliff, where the wind swirls and the sound of waves crashing against the shore. It's both thrilling and refreshing at the same time.
Upon reaching the skywalk, the first thing I saw was a glass walkway extending over the cliff. While it might not seem like much, once I stepped onto it, my heart immediately raced. Below me was the deep blue sea, clearly visible through the glass floor. I slowly walked, step by step. The sea breeze blew through my hair, but I felt a strange sense of freedom and excitement.
Looking into the distance, I saw five or six small islands floating in the sea. This is where the name "Oryukdo" ("five or six islands") comes from, referring to the number of islands visible at each tide. The view was so beautiful I had to stop and take in the images. The sky was blue, the sea was turquoise. The waves crashing against the gray cliffs was a sight both peaceful and majestic at the same time.
After enjoying the view, I stopped at a nearby observation deck. There were wooden chairs where I could sit and quietly gaze at the sea for a while. The atmosphere wasn't as bustling as a city beach, but it felt more peaceful and natural. The sound of the waves, the wind, and the smell of the sea truly gave me a sense of relaxation.
Oryukdo Skywalk may not be located in a big city or filled with shops, but it was a place where I could truly experience the "natural beauty of Busan."
Where the sky and the sea met, and the courage to step out onto the transparent walkway above the sea was truly an unforgettable moment.
