Bird's Beak Lake Artificial Lake

#SeptemberDestinations2025

🏞️ Nantou's Niaozui Lake, located on the banks of Wuxi River in Caotun Township, is Taiwan's largest artificial lake. Composed of six lake sections, it holds a total of 14.5 million cubic meters of water, supplying 210,000 tons of water daily to Changhua and 40,000 tons to Caotun, effectively mitigating land subsidence.

The lake integrates water conservancy projects with eco-tourism, featuring bicycle paths, observation decks, and a water resources education center in a bare concrete style, offering interactive exhibits and ecological learning experiences. The project prioritizes eco-friendliness, including a leopard corridor and a near-natural fishway, where 21 leopards have been recorded.
