A Day in Cardiff: From the Majesty of the Castle to the Calm of the Bay

Cardiff, the capital of Wales, offers a perfect blend of history and modern charm, and my recent day trip to Cardiff Castle and Cardiff Bay was nothing short of delightful.

I started the morning at Cardiff Castle, located right in the heart of the city. Stepping inside felt like walking through centuries of history—from the Roman walls to the Norman keep and the richly decorated Victorian apartments. Climbing the keep rewarded me with panoramic views over the city. I especially enjoyed the quirky Animal Wall outside the castle, which added a playful touch to the historic setting.

In the afternoon, I made my way to Cardiff Bay, a short bus ride away. The contrast was striking—where the castle was steeped in the past, the Bay was full of modern energy. I walked along the waterfront, enjoyed a coffee overlooking the water, and admired the striking architecture of the Senedd (Welsh Parliament) and the Wales Millennium Centre. The atmosphere was relaxed, with families, tourists, and locals all enjoying the sunshine.
