🎥🌍 Exploring Life in Layers at the Melbourne Museum — Melbourne, Australia ✨

#hellohalloween

Tucked beside the majestic Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens, the Melbourne Museum is a striking modern institution built in 2000 and operated by Museums Victoria. Its bold architecture by Denton Corker Marshall weaves seamlessly into the heritage-rich surroundings of one of Melbourne’s oldest cultural precincts.

Inside, the museum blends natural history, cultural heritage and social storytelling across its vibrant galleries. Highlights include the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre, immersive exhibits on Victorian ecosystems, dinosaur fossils, and “Curious?”—a behind-the-scenes look at the museum’s scientific research. Children under 16 enjoy free general entry to most of the permanent installations.

Visiting the Melbourne Museum rewards you with both breadth and depth: plan for about 1.5–2 hours to take in the main displays, and longer if you include the special exhibitions, IMAX theatre or live events. It opens daily from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (closed only on Good Friday and Christmas Day).
