Melbourne Museum - A Must-Visit Treasure

I've visited countless times since Melbourne is my hometown. There's always something new to uncover and some incredible staples too. For years, the insect and geological displays were my favorite, but lately, the Little Lons home and Bendigo-Melbourne Cobb and Co replicas have become my top attractions (besides the beautiful nature spot with birds, lizards, and fish). You can also view Pharlap in his full glory—he almost looks alive! Currently, the miniatures are not on display due to the Viking Hoard exhibition. We visited mainly for this and really enjoyed admiring the artefacts. The exhibit offers a wealth of informative video content, but I highly suggest purchasing the catalogue from the gift shop as it features splendid photographs and additional details. This museum truly warrants a full day to explore everything. There's a café, restrooms, and a cloakroom available, allowing you to settle in and have a good time. Parking is a breeze here, and with our ticket validated, it only cost us $25 for as long as we wished.
